The tile selection
You are shown a grid and asked to pick from it. The targets are:
- Alexandra
- the bathroom
- the bathtub
- the suitcase
- the severed hand
Whether that counts as five picks or four is exactly where the two sources part company — one treats the bathroom and the bathtub as separate targets, the other as one. Nothing else differs, so the practical instruction is the same: select what the grid in front of you offers, and record what you selected.
There is no order requirement reported for this one — it is a set, not a sequence.
The window panes are a different puzzle
Careful here, because the two get conflated in search results.
After Alexandra is in the bath there is a second interaction at the window, where you click glass panes in an order drawn from notes you picked up earlier in the house. That is not the tile grid above.
We do not have the pane order from a source we can verify, so it is not published here. What we can tell you is that the clue is in your notebook, not in the room.
The window is also where the Cleaning the Windows achievement lives — wipe it once Alexandra is in the bath. Official clue: "Something else needs to be cleaned. The windows are a little foggy."
Before the bath: the keyhole
Close Inspection is a hidden achievement in this same block and it is easy to walk past. Before you go in, look through the keyhole of the second-floor bathroom door.
"You don't need a key to see inside. Who is in the bathroom?"
Why the tiles come back
The post-credits achievement "You've found him!" replays a specific answer from each day, and the Day 2 entry is this exact tile set. The other values it wants — the clock at 4:05, the alchemy sequence, the attic stars — are collected on the all codes page, and the full route is on its own page.
