The Garden — Flowers, Cockroaches and Stone Tiles

Servant of the Lake garden walkthrough: the flower pot arrangement, herding cockroaches with the directional tile, the stone tile box and the luggage.

Light spoilers. This page names rooms, items and characters you meet, but keeps the story beats out of it.

The garden opens once the chandelier is lit. It is a chain of four small puzzles that feed each other: flowers give you a stone tile, cockroaches give you another, the tiles open a box, and the box gives you the flag.

1. Flower arrangement

Diagram of the garden puzzle chain and what each step gives you

Arrange the flowers in the planter to match the pattern the game shows you.

Rewards: a bouquet and the first stone tile.

Hidden achievement — Ruining the Bouquet. Before you give the bouquet to Alexandra, let the goat chew it. The clue: "The goat deserves more attention. Alexandra isn't the only one loving flowers." Hand it over intact and the achievement is gone.

This is the third deliberate-failure achievement in Day 1 and the pattern should be familiar by now — the game rewards you for being a bad servant, once per chore.

2. Cockroach herding

Three cockroaches, one hole, and a stone tile with a direction on it that you use to push them.

  • Push each cockroach toward the hole using the directional tile.
  • Avoid the marked corner zones. Those are the fail states, not the walls.

Clearing all three gives you the third stone tile.

3. The stone tile box

You now have three tiles. Fit them into the box in the final configuration.

Reward: the flag.

4. The luggage

Two separate problems here.

The code. Shake the baby basket and listen — it plays back a three-digit code. This code is randomised for every playthrough. No guide can supply it and any that does is quoting one specific run. Full explanation on the luggage code page.

The packing. Fit the items into the suitcase so that no empty space is left at the top. It is a fit puzzle, not a code — rotate and reorder until the top row is full.

Where this sits

Day 1 Afternoon, after the hallway and before the evening tea service. Full route on the Day 1 walkthrough.

Still to be confirmed

We could not verify the following against more than one source, so we have left it out rather than guess. This page is updated as confirmations come in.

  • The exact flower arrangement pattern — published only as an in-game screenshot.
  • The final three-tile configuration in the stone tile box — same, screenshot only.
